Our mission at The Pennsylvania Dance Company is to guide, educate, and inspire students in the highest standards of dance, while encouraging leadership, respect, and loyalty. We strive to instill passion in our dancers while teaching them to be professional and driven. These qualities are necessary to succeed in the dance industry and the world at large.
OUR FACULTY
All of our educators have a love for dance and a desire to share their knowledge with our students. Our goal at The Pennsylvania Dance Company is to create an engaging, informed, and well-rounded dance education.
CERTIFIED EXCELLENCE
YOUTH PROTECTION ASSOCIATION FOR DANCE CERTIFICATION
The Pennsylvania Dance Company is the only dance studio in our area that is certified by the Youth Protection Association for Dance (YPAD). YPAD is the nation’s only dance certification program focusing on both safety and wellness for dance students. To earn the designation, studios must complete a dance safety/educational best practices track and a wellness/development of youth dancers track.
We are proud to use the knowledge gained from YPAD to safely and responsibly educate our dancers.
ACROBATIC ARTS CERTIFICATION
PDC is an Acrobatic Arts certified studio. Acrobatic Arts offers a comprehensive training program for dance educators to safely teach AcroDance. Their curriculum covers anatomy, technique, progressions, lesson planning, choreography, and more.
We use well-researched practices learned during certification to ensure a safe and fun experience for all of our Acrobatics students.
COMMITMENT TO DANCE EDUCATION
Education is at the heart of our studio. Our faculty holds degrees in dance from The University of Akron, Slippery Rock University, and Point Park University alongside a lengthy history of other educational, competitive, performance, and teaching experience in the industry.
All of our dance educators are dedicated to learning more about this art form that is our passion. We strive to continue to gain more information and share our expanding knowledge with our students every chance we get.
OUR FACILITY
Our studio is where the magic happens! With 8,000 square feet of space, we have plenty of room to dance freely. We have three dance studios, a comfortable lobby area, and a lounge for our dancers to use between classes.
Each of our three spacious studios is equipped with large mirrors and marley flooring to ensure the best learning experience for our dancers. Students are welcome to use unoccupied studios to practice routines or stretch for class.

BALLET DICTIONARY FOR CHILDREN
Our very own Miss Jessica and Miss Olivia wrote a book!
Livington's Ballet Dictionary for Children is a fun, easy-to-read, ballet dictionary for young dancers and teachers alike. Geared towards beginner dancers ages 5-10, the book uses rhyming phrases to define French ballet terminology. Not only is it great for young dancers, dance instructors can also use it as a teaching tool.
